Acapulco is recognized worldwide as one of the best and oldest beach resort of Mexico. It is a little outside the vicinity of Mexico City but the tourists can take a bus from the city to the resort which takes 5-6 hours as it is a must visit place. There are numerous different beaches in this resort and almost all of them are seen crowded with tourists. Icacos Beach offers exceptional swimming conditions and opportunities for other water sports. The rentals for these sports such as equipment for snorkeling and surfing can easily be found. Similarly the Mimosa Beach also known as the sunset beach provides a marvelous view of the ocean especially during the evening. Other beaches available in this area are Playa la Angosta, Roqueta Beach and Puerto Marques. These beaches offer various activities from water sports such as surfing and snorkeling to calm relaxing and sunbathing and some of the resorts are even designed to provide a magnificent beach wedding.

Playa Alameda Norte is one of the artificial beaches of Mexico City and was donated to the community of Azcapotzalco by the government of Mexico City. The reason behind the construction of this beach was to provide opportunities for lower class families to spend time together at lower expenses. The area covered is over 6000 square meters and the manmade beach offers numerous different activities for families to engage in. The beach has three volleyball courts, showers, a beach soccer field and has umbrellas, lounge chairs and tables for the families to enjoy together and outdoor grills for cooking.
Playa Del Carmen
Playa Del Carmen is located well outside the Mexico City but people still visit it due the high quality of experience it offers. The location of the beach is ideal and is equipped with all sorts of shops, restaurants and the nightlife is a great experience. The major reason why people prefer to travel a farther distance to reach this resort is the combined package of beauty, scenery, fine dining, shopping, hotels and the Mayan trail it offers amongst other attractions.
